    A lifetime gardener, I have spent decades imagining and nurturing perennial gardens.  Like trusted old friends, familiar plants return each year with their distinctive foliage and lovely blooms.  I use my camera to capture the remarkable pulse of life, death, and rebirth that occurs in my gardens with each passing season.  Local farmlands and forests are also an inspiration for my work.

    Many of my images are taken with a macro lens as I enjoy focusing on small, easily overlooked details like emerging buds, textured bark, and spiderwebs beaded with rain.  Seasonal shifts in light affect both my gardens and my photography.  I hope my images emphasize the value of slowing down to notice nature’s transformations as they unfold.
